"Educate yourself on childbirth," the health care provider advised. I can educate myself till the cows come home, yet labor remains unpredictable and challenging for most women. It was 2010, and I had experienced this journey before in 2001 with the birth of my first son, now anticipating the birth of my second. Many thoughts crossed my mind as I imagined the health care worker envisioning me enduring childbirth amidst twigs, leaves, forest and the guesswork yes the guesswork of the midwife.

Little did she know, I received generous help from the most diligent, loving, patient, polite, and beautiful midwife Celine along with a down-to-earth Obstetrician and her student on work placement.
Despite this, the situation remained challenging due to a delay in the second stage of labor, ultimately requiring medical intervention with a vacuum extraction.
Fast forward twenty-three years, and the muzzle on how people must speak has become absurd, as individuals take offence even in emergencies. Ahem,... Sir/Madam/Miss/Mr/pronoun/person/person of no gender/no race/no background/non-existence, there is a significant danger (pardon me, puddle) in front of you. Excuse my improper addressing, but DON'T SLIP!!!!!
