Singing the Laurels of the "IT" girl/boy/couple in society.

Updated: Nov 6

Back in the infancy of the internet and long before the social media era tv, magazines conventional media outlets were responsible for promoting certain elites in society. Across different cultures there is always something we revere like a common language/knowledge often it is a figure pertaining to western culture.

There is a certain aesthetic that was praised and revered still existing today but in a more covert way. We are now more discerning of the message and the cause that individuals and traditional media outlets try to sell us.

We must be careful not to walk in ignorance but at the same time we cannot become filled with so much wariness that we cancel every idea or thought.

Entertainment figures have influenced fashion and the seasonal trend in make up, hair colour and overall look but these often don't flatter different body shapes, let alone skin colour or cultural traits. Those of us with limited fashion inspiration were in awe of seeing influential people wearing passing fashion fads of the time.

These ideas about the social elites leaves others out and limits the opportunities for those who may lack the looks, education and connections for social mobility for themselves and future generations.

So be careful who you bestow your praise and admiration to.
